I've arrived here at the top of the world, or so it feels. It takes a bit of adjustment, living at altitude, but the topic of this course is stimulating. A breath of fresh air, indeed.

We've another two days of lecture and demonstration before we strike out to do our own research into the processes of hypothermia on a rough trek. It promises to be a quite challenging exercise.

Aurora, I'm so terribly sorry to have put you to such trouble. I promise that I am on the mend. Ever so much better today after another good night's rest. You may now quit worrying entirely.

Pomona, dear, I'm afraid I left my satchel beside my chair at breakfast. Not to worry, though. I'll pop down and collect it at lunch: they're giving us a reading period again today, to catch up on some of the literature. if you're not out for a ramble, I'll see you then. And if you do happen to be about, it would not go amiss if you'd check, as you did yesterday, to see that I'm awake when it's time for the afternoon session.

I am very glad to hear you're doing better - but do be extremely careful, please. I am, in fact, going to continue to worry. Don't you know me better by now?

Mum also wants me to reassure you that while it was not precisely a pleasure, she was very glad to be able to be of help. She'd love to have you for a proper visit sometime, so you can both talk food and remedies and such. And as she points out, you've been of endless help to various of our clan over the years and it was nice to be able to return the favour. (And on my end, well, Raz managed, and it was nice to get to sit up with her and cook, just the two of us, even with so worrisome a reason.) So please don't worry on that account.

I did have a word after I left with the various people I mentioned to Pomona: I'm not at all sure how seriously they're taking it, any of them, but they didn't dismiss me entirely, either. I'll let you know if I hear anything more, but Mel said it might be a few days.

I hope you are enjoying the final days of your holidays. For my part, I am looking forward to the return to Hogwarts and its familiar routines.

Pomona and I have arranged for hot stew and dumplings, if you're feeling up to it. Take the Floo back down and you can have a lie-down before the afternoon session.

She told you Stint's attempt to join in the fun at the pub was roundly resisted? I've a feeling we'll see him back tonight, though, so you and Pomona had best go up straight after supper.

I've a feeling that if I'm in the taproom by myself, he'll try his luck.

Oh, incidentally, I'm disguised as Ellie, and we've given out that she's Pomona's grand-niece.

Stint imagines himself a ladies' man and I caught him giving me the eye a bit last night. Fancy playing the jealous boyfriend? I think it might give us just the excuse we need to get him alone and discover what harm he means to do Poppy.
