I'm glad you've written.

Frank and I decided it would be best for everyone if we answered questions but avoided engaging in debate, because we couldn't help but to take all of it very personally, and showing defensiveness or anger wouldn't have been useful for anyone. Frank put off reading what everyone said until yesterday afternoon, and even then, it was quite a lot to sort through. It is a hard thing to sit back and watch other people make decisions about your family, and then be expected to accept it.

It still stings. I didn't mean to sound quite that bitter.

But I've been wanting to tell you how very much I appreciated what you said about our Neville. You and Pomona and Severus know Neville better than we do in some respects, and you were each so supportive of him as a person that it made a difficult situation much easier to bear. I wish he could've heard it too. So thank you for that.
