It's really such a shame you had to go back after London. The ramble from Gravesend to Igtham Mote was lovely. Just what I needed after a week in the city. I've had a simply gorgeous time here. Well, apart from the rain, but as I was in the brewing house on all the rainy days, that was no bother. The brewing staff here are ingenious. I see why St Mungo's relies on them so heavily. In any case, I've learned a great deal from Mr Postlethwaite--he remembers you so fondly, Pomona--and his partner, Mr Smythe. We made side trips to the orchards at Brogdale (where the plums and the porphyry fruit are just coming in) and to the gardens at Sissinghurst and Knole (where some of the plantings descend through 500 years of documented cultivation). I told you there would be plenty for you on this trip!
Next year, perhaps.
In any case, I intend to make Leeds by half-three. Shall we meet at York Gate's reception at half-four? If that suits, you needn't bother to contact me. Otherwise, send an owl along to reception so I'll know when to expect you.
There's a lovely little pub nearby--or there was, last I was there.
Oh, and Horace! I ought to have said: one of the folks with me on the course here was Formsby Urquhart. He asked to be remembered to you. Said he's become a great grandfather since he saw you last, and he hopes you're holding a spot for his latest grand-sprog in Slytherin House--says he's never seen one come out of the womb with a clearer disposition. 'Won't take the Hat a moment's thought, that one!' So there's something to anticipate. I gather there's a year or two yet before you need worry about receiving the child.
