Reporting in to tell you all that you may stand down from fussing over me. I am perfectly well.

I've survived poisoning, harassment, boredom, the physical duress of trekking at high altitude over challenging terrain, and have endured sleeping rough in variable conditions controlled by the station. (My results have proven without doubt that it needn't be actually freezing to induce hypothermic symptoms, but that those set in faster and more severely the colder it gets--which one wouldn't have thought needed investigation, but they are most welcome to my report if it will please them to accept it and release me from this tedious course.)

I have several stops to make after leaving here and no intention of sharing my itinerary with anyone but you all. I've learned my lesson, thank you.

Alice. Could I be of help if I were to make a stop at Moddey Dhoo? I could be there for a couple of days. Are there supplies you need that I could pick up before coming?

I've written Charlie to see if he could find a way to get me some fresh dragon's blood. My stocks of Cinnabaris Vitalis have gone beyond their date and will need replacing. I haven't heard from him yet, but I know it's no easy favour for him to manage.

I'm trying to think what's urgent. Though, actually - if I placed an order for the seedling pots I most like, would you be willing to pick them up? The maker's in New London, and while I quite love the pots, their staff is horrid about packing, and the last set arrived half broken. I'd rather trust them to your care. I could use about 20, but they're small, and not that heavy.

On the rest, have you not seen that Stint at all? And honestly, making you go through all that, and you having been ill. Poisoned. I still can't believe that. Are you sure you're recovered? And do promise me you'll follow up with whoever Aurora's cousin recommended.

I would also love your company back, oh, Wednesday or Thursday. I gather we're expecting our new Dark Arts instructor then, and that Umbridge, and I could rather use knowing there's another friendly face in the castle.

Of course I'll collect the pots for you. I can do that after I keep my appointment at St Mungo's, which I will do, despite my aversion to the place after- No time like the present to begin getting over it.

I'll see what I can do about getting back before the weekend. That rather depends on whether I go to Moddey Dhoo.

So there's a Dark Arts appointment at last. I confess I hoped Minerva might contrive to 'fumble' the process so we could let the post go unfilled. Too much to hope, I know. Who is it to be, then?

I'm glad to hear you'll keep the appointment. (And honestly, from what Aurora said, her cousin's made it as easy for you as can be.)

Though I notice you have not actually answered the question about how you're feeling.

And there is - I don't know if you saw Lucius Malfoy's journal, but he said, and I quote: "Minerva, since you have been incapable of bringing to the Board of Governors an acceptable candidate to undertake instruction in Dark Arts, Our Lord has seen fit to resolve the vacancy on your behalf." Apparently with some curricular changes as well, which I do not like.

But no news yet on who that might be. Though I'm sure there are some guesses, and perhaps Aurora may have news from her holiday. Though I've not heard from her since Monday except for that note about the test results.

Poppy, I'm so glad to hear you're on the mend. If you're feeling sturdy enough, we would be glad to have your help. The fluxweed seedlings are requiring some babying, and we're still in a frenzy of canning and preserving all we've recovered from the storm. The children also need their yearly poking at as well. If you're in need of a spot of rest before you start off the term again, though, don't hesitate to take it.

Would it be too odd for you to pick up some carrot and parsnip seeds? If it would, than you would just need to bring yourself and we'd find plenty for you to do.

I could come this afternoon. I've left Snowdon and am making a stop in St David's now. I know just the place here to see about those seeds, as it happens.

I expect to be in Solva for lunch, and then I'll head your way.

Sorry, Poppy, I've already found an open Floo and returned (and none too soon: I think Ellie was counting on Sinbad being back at her side on as busy a night as this is shaping up to be).

No repayment is necessary, though.
